HTC U Ultra | HTC’s Next Big Hit?

HTC seems to be on a role here. HTC just announced range of new phones. The best one among it is HTC U Ultra. The phone is a direct competitor to the LG V20 because of its secondary display. The phone is the latest and greatest from HTC.

If you were hoping for the Qualcomm great Snapdragon 835 processor then you will be disappointed as HTC U Ultra is powered by Snapdragon 821 processor. It is still a beast but 2017 will see a lot of flagships being run by the mighty Snapdragon 835 so we will prefer you wait for MWC 2017.

Other specs include a 5.7 inch screen which is QHD. Knowing HTC we are certain that the screen would be very good as we have always been a fan of HTC’s S-LCDs. The phone comes with a 12-MP camera following the industry standard. The camera is special as it has one of the largest pixel size which means better clarity in your pictures. To be exact the pixel size is of 1.55µm. The lens is f/1.8 aperture hence having great low light visibility. The phone also has OIS and laser autofocus, in addition to all this tech the phone also has phase detection which further produces excellent images. There is also a feature where the phone can shoot 4MP Ultra Pixel camera. The same Ultra Pixel camera due to which HTC lost the megapixel race. The phone comes with Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box. The second screen is there to give you instant notifications just like the LG V20. It has the same functionality as LG V20 with quick contacts, reminders and notifications sitting at top.

The phone carries 3000mAh battery which might not last that long though. The phone has a USB Type-C port and sports fast charging. Gone is the headphone jack which means the phone will come with a single port and you will either have to opt for charging your phone or transfer data or listen to your favorite tunes. We are just making it sound dramatic though, it is not that bad. The price is pretty steep though at $749 hence we would prefer you go for the previous flagship which will cost you cheaper.

We really hope HTC picks up the pace from here. HTC 10 is available on a much cheaper price and has almost the same flagship specs along with a headphone jack. You can buy one right here.
